PUMPKINS guitarist James Iha to quit music. According to Music 365, SMASHING PUMPKINS guitarist James Iha is leaving his musical career behind when the group splits at the end of their current tour. He cites disappointment in the sales of the PUMPKINS' latest album as a reason for quitting. Iha said in a recent interview, "There has to be more to life than rock 'n' roll."

NO DOUBT fans injured at concert. I've had about enough of this vein of news. But, our readers have a right to know: SPIN reports that 5 concertgoers were injured at a recent NO DOUBT show in Mesa, Arizona when 4,000 fans rushed the stage. Nothing serious and certainly no deaths, but these incidents provide further evidence that concert safety needs some attention.

WEEZER teases new material. "Mad Cow." "Modern Dukes." "Slob." They're all names of new songs soon to be included on WEEZER's greatly anticipated third album, says Rolling Stone. In support of the new tunes, WEEZER sets forth on their first tour in about three years, starting August 23 in New York. Fans are invited to vote on the new material on WEEZER's website, www.weezernet.com.
